Fading shadows

Gaining light

Disappearing traces

Inverting reflections

Graduating time

Infusing memories

Conjoining space

Illuminating fate

Displacing reality

Perverting truth

Imitating infinity.

About The Poet

John H Davies was born in 1962. After Uppingham and Sandhurst he served as an Infantryman in the British Army, and later as a mercenary in Central America, where he was detained in solitary confinement for a year as a prisoner of war. Since returning to the UK he worked in the manufacturing industry for 20 years, before joining a security company in East Africa. His portfolio included Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Zambia and D R Congo. John now works for a tourism and conservation organization in the Serengeti region of Northern Tanzania. The poetry is influenced by those early events, and subsequent adjustment to the day to day life of work, family and relationships. The poem 'Chinese Whispers' appeared in The Spectator, and Shropshire Life magazine published a monthly piece for a year selected from the blog. John can be contacted mwambani@hotmail.com
