Any kind of snow

As a boy
he worked as a fireman
on the local branch line,
and in the winter
the driver could judge
exactly the right moment
to apply the brakes
so that the locomotive
would slide down the hill
into Much Wenlock
and come to a stop
right outside
the Station Master’s office.
